The Handweavers Guild of Pueblo are weavers, spinners, and felters who produce exquisite fiber art. First organized in 1974 and meeting in members’ homes, the guild has a strong tradition of promoting and encouraging fiber arts by actively participating in community events, demonstrating and teaching spinning and weaving, as well as sponsoring awards for the Colorado State Fair, El Pueblo Museum and the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center. Today, with over 80 members, monthly meetings, workshops, and an extensive library, they are an important community resource. Their annual Handwoven Holiday Sale at the historic Vail Hotel has become a showcase, must-see event, to be held this year November 1 through November 5.
